Now I'm a little upset...

No moves? NO MOVES???

The Dodgers are within striking distance of the top spot and no trades to improve anything. They showed some serious heart against the best team in the NL... and if they had something to look forward to its now nothing.

Werth is out again just as Valentin comes back. Injuries have definately killed them but man... WHERE'S THE TRADE? WHERE'S THE 100MILLION DOLLA PAYROLL? From last I heard they are still at $79 million with a promise of 100!!!

They have no one marketable.....Who could they trade, who wants any of these guys, they are a AAA club this year, and yes they have been hit by the injury bug, but not their starters (pitching) and they have no first or third baseman... They have no shot and better change next year for the better or else, I am becoming an ANGEL fan, and that is something I thought I would never ever say...

They have trade bait for the Reds and Ms and Tampa Bay. Usually those teams want to get rid of payroll, want a Triple A player or something.

Don't foget their starting rotation was also hurt with injuries too.

The rotation going into the year was:
Penny, Lowe, Perez, Weaver and Alvarez/Dessens

Penny, Dessens, and Perez were on the 15 day DL and Alvarez was on it twice.

That's aproximately 15 pitching days that they had to rely on someone else to start.

Only two of the five starters have been able to start each game they were supposed to start. I calculated aproximately 450 total days on the official DL for this team. I believe it might be more and leads the league in DL days.

Everyone is still upset at what Depodesta did to the team THAT GOT THEM TO THE PLAYOFFS but we can't assess the new team he put together with all these injuries. But we can totally get on his case for not getting someone now to help them push on to the playoffs. It sends a sign that they are folding already without the commitment to spend more.

It's the owners fault imho. He promised 100 million dollar payroll!!!

      I HATE THE McCOURTS

Alright man, I'll give you that, you know what you are talking about, but Depo did have CHOI as our starting 1st baseman and Valentin as our 3rd baseman, on the corners which is huge for power, we definately had the last place corners....They both suck, and we need to solve it fast...Plus he let CORA go, that hurt our starting pitching cuz it hurt our defense, and they are all pretty much besides Penny ground ball pitchers! Kent could have been our firstbaseman, and BELTRE.......even though he still struggles, we miss him so badly, and Drew always gets hurt, it in his contract.....
NEED SOME CHANGES BADLY, yet the people still go and see them, so why would they change, they are making so much money. FUCK SMALL BALL and get Tracy out of there too, he does not know how to manage his pitching staff.

          LOL - It's in JD's contract. Funny.

I'll give you Tracy not managing his staff very well, but if you've ever listened to some of his logic in strategy on the field, its right on the money. It's pretty amazing.

And he did get them to the Playoffs last year despite all the crap they went through.

CHOI does suck. But the guy isn't given an every day assignment to get in the groove. I'm still on Valentin's side. Solid ballplayer but definately not comparable to Beltre's defense. If Beltre were having a bad year here this year and we paid all that money, can you imagine how the fans would have gotten on his case. Poor guy.

Right now I love Kent at 1st. BUt I also like trying out Phillips on 1st. He does hit the ball. People don't realize it but Phillips is a really good utility player. Seeing Navarro behind the plate and having him back up Bako next year would be simply awesome.

If I were to make up the team before Midnight July 31st I would have wanted something like this:

          C Navarro
          1B AUBREY HUFF
          2B Kent
          SS Izturis
          3B Valentin

          LF Werth
          CF KEN GRIFFEY JR
          RF Bradley

          CLOSER: DANYS BAEZ

All were possible. Get rid of Edwin Jackson! Keep Brazoban as a setup man.

Imagine if GRIFFEY (yes, big contract that Reds want out of) and/or ADAM DUNN were in the lineup and how that would help both Valentin and possibly get Kent more hits than he's aleady getting.

If only they got a closer, it would shorten up the game so much! You can't have the mindset that you had with Gagne because his setup guy is now closing. There's no setup man!!! It lengthens the game big time.

Imagine getting Brazoban in at the 8th with any middle reliever to go in the 6th if needed and 7th.

Having BAEZ or any legit closer would have made this team so much better.

All along I've been saying ONE STARTER AND A CLOSER. Need it to get into the playoffs, and need it IN the playoffs.

Offense ain't gonna get us through the playoffs. Pitching does.

Mute point now. Unless there's some Waiver things that go on. Still hope... But little.

We don't want old high priced talent, it is not the way to go, Griffey is great but too much money and not enough time, that is what the ANgels of old would do, get a high prised talent in the end of his career, DUnn would have been nice, first base for a lot of years......NAvarro will be the starter next year and Baco his backup, BAKo is not very good.....The reason Beltre is struggling is cuz of the changing of leaugues, he would of been fine in the NL west he is used to it....
I miss COra, and will GAGNE ever be the same, Highly unlikely....Steroids!

We don't need to spend stupid money anymore, we are still paying for Brown and Greene and all the bad moves we have made in the past, don't need any more bad moves, just chalk up this season, and start building for next year, we really should have gotten Delgado when we had the chance last winter...
